Do good job, break quickly
Reviewed by Tanya Jones, Mon Nov 15 2004
These straighteners are great at straightening my hair which is long, thick and wavy. The only down side is after a year and a half of use they broke. The wires split and sparks came out, which is very dangerous and could have caught my hair alight. When I called GHD because they were out of the years warranty I had to pay a £23 repair cost. They took four working days to repair and return them, after I paid the fee. I have however heard of this problem from a lot of other review sites and there has been a Watchdog report on lots of complaints on similar types of faults, check out their web site. For the money, I think they should last longer than this, hair dryers can last forever at a much cheaper cost. I also tried the Morphy Richards Mark Hill Thermocentre Straighteners at the same cost and they work just as well. Also, Boots have them on a half price sale at the mo and so a bargain at £40. Hope this helps. |
