effective, not toooo damagine

This is by far my favorite flatiron. The sticker price is high, but I found mine on overstock.com for under a hundred dollars, so I finally got rid of whatever drugstore flatiron I was using. The chi smoothes out my hair really quickly, which is my main criteria for a flatirons - I don't want to run that heat over and over my head! |

The Chi Iron use to be the best. Now they are so mass produced, the quality has gone down the toilet bigtime!!! For Stylist, they are lucky if they last one year. Farouk is counting on reputation......there are many Irons available that are just as good (If not BETTER) than CHI. GHD and Bio Ionic and Infrashine are just as good and have much longer warranties than CHI |

The Chi iron works well on my hair but like many other reviews I have now read, the electrical cord goes bad within a year and the company won't return e-mails or deal with the issue. I won't buy another one and I have contacted the salon that promotes them every year in my area. |

WELL, I BOUGHT MY CHI IRON FROM MYMHAIR DRESSER. SHE PURCHASED FOR ME FROM HER PRIVATE WEARHOUSE. I HAVE HAD IT FOR 1 1/2 YEARS, AND LOVED IT. MY HAIR ALWAYS TURNED OUT SO SILKY AND SOFT. I DIDN'T SUFFER ALOT OF BREAKAGE, BUT JUST RECENTLY I WENT TO GO AND TURN MY IRON ON AND THE ON/OFF SWITCH BROKE IN MY HAND. NOW IT WON'T TURN ON NO MATTER WHAT I DO. NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE PRODUCT WHEN I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD IT 2 YEARS. IT IS NOW RUINED AND I PAID $99 FOR IT. I LOOKED AT IT AS AN INVESTMENT IN THE HEALTH OF MY HAIR. NOW I HAVE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER IRON. I DON'T KNOW IF I WILL SPEND TOO MUCH THIS TIME, WHNE YOU ONLY GET A 1 YEAR WARRANTY. UP UNTIL NOW, MY EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT. |

FLAT IRONS DO BREAK OFF THE HAIR SEVERLY

I began using the Chi iron about 2 years ago. I absolutely loved it b/c I have naturally curly hair. With the Chi Iron, for the first time in my life, I was able to wear my hair STRAIGHT. Not only was it STRAIGHT, it was SILKY, and SHINY. However, over a period of time, I found my hair to be breaking off severly! I was always finding hair all over the sink, tube and just WHEREVER I brushed my hair, it was breaking off tremendously. About 2wks ago, I bought ION heat protecting spray. It has an oil base. It doesnt make your hair sticky at all. I like the feel, and it smells good. I hope it works. My hair has been the same lenght for 2 years now b/c of all flat iron damage. I hope using the heat protection spray works. |
